Close to shops, cafes and parks, Georgetown has much to offer.

The peaceful suburb of Georgetown is located 6km from Newcastle's CBD.  Residents are a stone throw from Waratah train station and within walking distance to Hunter Stadium (home to the Newcastle Knights and Newcastle Jets). Surrounding suburbs include Waratah, Mayfield, North Hamilton, Lambton and Broadmeadow, which all offer a range of schools, sporting facilities and public parks.

Georgetown offers ease of access to Waratah Public School, Hamilton North Public School, St Phillip's Christian College, Callaghan College and Lambton High School. Families in the area also enjoy The Forum, which is a gym located at the University of Newcastle's Callaghan campus, a short ten minute drive away. The facility offers activities and sports for the whole family. Many choose to attend swimming lessons in the 50 metre indoor heated pool or a game of basketball on one of the gym's indoor multi-purpose courts.

Bordering Georgetown is Waratah Village, a practical shopping centre for residents in surrounding suburbs. Waratah Village is home to a Coles supermarket, 24 hour Kmart, Kmart Tyre and Auto, chemist, liquor store and a range of cafes and restaurants.

Properties in this area are becoming more and more difficult to come by as the market gains momentum. A good mix of small to medium family homes, terrace style town houses and small apartment buildings, this little suburb has plenty to offer the modern family, property investor or city workers alike.
